The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to release the Class 12 results for the 2024 academic session in the first week of May. The eagerly awaited announcement will bring great relief to students who have been anxiously waiting for their results.
The CBSE board exams commenced on February 12 and concluded on April 6, 2024. This year, around 20 lakh students appeared for the exams. The results of the exams are now available online on the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in.
Students can access their results by entering their roll, school, and centre numbers on the website. If students face any issues while checking their results online due to poor internet connectivity, they can opt for the SMS service provided by CBSE. The results will be sent directly to their mobile phones by sending an SMS to the designated number.

Class 12th Result Dates
As per the latest updates, the much-awaited results of the upcoming exam are expected to be declared tentatively in May 2024. In case any student wants to apply for re-evaluation or re-checking of their papers, the window to do so will also open in May 2024. Moreover, for the students who could not pass any subjects, the supplementary exams will be held in July 2024. The results of the supplementary exams are expected to be declared by August 2024.
How to Check the CBSE 12th Results?
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) provides multiple avenues for students to check their Class 12 exam results. Below are the various methods available:
CBSE Official Website
- Visit the CBSE results official website: cbseresults.nic.in.
- Click on the link for ‘Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) Results’.
- Enter your roll number, school number, and admit card ID as provided on your admit card.
- Click on ‘Submit’ to view your results.
- Your results will be displayed on the screen. You can download or print a copy for your records.
DigiLocker
- Download the DigiLocker app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, or visit the website: digilocker.gov.in.
- Sign up or log in using your Aadhaar number or mobile number.
- Navigate to the CBSE section under the ‘Education’ category.
- Select ‘Class XII Marksheet’.
- Your marksheet will be available for download and can be saved digitally for future reference.
SMS Service
- CBSE also offers an SMS service to get your Class 12 results.
- Type ‘CBSE12 <Roll Number>’ and send it to the designated number provided by CBSE during the result announcement period.
- Your result will be sent to you via SMS on your mobile phone.
UMANG App
- Download the UMANG app, which is available on Android, iOS, and Windows platforms.
- Go to the CBSE section.
- Select ‘Class XII Result’.
- Enter your details, like roll number and date of birth, to access your results.
Previous Years’ Statistics for CBSE 12th Examinations
In 2023, a total of 16,60,511 candidates appeared for the CBSE 12th exams. The overall pass percentage was 87.33%, with boys having a pass percentage of 84.67% and girls outperforming slightly with a pass percentage of 90.68%.
In comparison, the year 2022 saw 14,35,366 candidates taking the exams. The overall pass percentage was higher at 92.71%, with boys securing a pass percentage of 91.25% and girls achieving an even higher rate at 95.54%.

CBSE 12th 2024 Re-evaluation Process
After the board declares the results, a portal will be created for students who want to challenge their scores by re-evaluating or re-checking their answer sheets. The board has introduced this process to correct any potential errors in results. Students can use this service through the board’s official website.
The option to apply for re-evaluation or re-checking usually becomes available shortly after the announcement of results. If you wish to apply for re-evaluation or re-checking, you must submit your application through your respective school authorities. Along with your application, you would also need to pay a fee set by the board.
This fee is mandatory, and without its receipt, your application will not be processed. After receiving your application and the necessary fee, the board will re-evaluate. If there are any changes in the original results, following re-evaluation, they will be officially published. You will receive a new mark sheet reflecting the changes made.
