CSIR NET June 2024 Educational Qualifications
- General Candidates need to score a minimum of 55% marks in their Master’s degree or equivalent to be eligible for the test. For OBC, SC, ST, PwD, and Third gender categories, the minimum mark required is 50%.
- Candidates pursuing or awaiting results of their Master’s degree or equivalent course can apply for the NET exam. However, they will get provisional admission and will be considered eligible for NET only if they pass their qualifying exam with at least 55% marks (50% for certain categories).
- They must complete their Master’s degree within two years from the date of the NET result with the required percentage of marks to avoid disqualification.
- Candidates who qualify for ‘Admission to Ph.D. Only’ must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within one year from the date of the NET result with the necessary percentage of marks.
- Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examinations were completed by 19 September 1991 (regardless of the date of result declaration) are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.
CSIR NET Age Limit
- JRF: Applicants must not exceed 30 years of age as of June 1, 2024, the date on which the examination period ends.
- Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying to the Joint CSIR UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.
- Admission to PhD: There is no upper age limit to apply for PhD admission.

Application Fee
