Candidates applying for the posts of ASI (Stenographer) and HC (Ministerial) must meet the educational qualifications as prescribed by the BSF. Generally, candidates should have completed their 12th class (Intermediate) from a recognized board or university.
Additionally, for the post of ASI (Stenographer), candidates must possess a shorthand speed of 80 words per minute in English or Hindi and a typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.

Border Security Force Recruitment Selection Process
The selection process for this recruitment includes the following stages:
- Written Examination: Candidates will have to appear for a written test that will assess their general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, and language skills.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Candidates who qualify in the written examination will undergo a physical measurement test to ensure they meet the physical standards required for the posts.
