West Bengal JEE 2024 Cutoff
The cutoff marks for WBJEE 2024, which determine who gets into different colleges, can change depending on the college, the course, and the student’s category. WBJEE 2024 Merit Lists
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is set to release two different merit lists for the WBJEE 2024 examination.
General Merit List (GMR)
- This list is for students who want to get into engineering, technology, and architecture courses.
- The GMR ranks students based on their total scores from all exam subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry).
- Students with higher scores are placed higher on the list.
- If students have the same score, the board uses specific rules to decide who ranks higher, often looking at specific exam details and even the age of the students.
Pharmacy Merit List (PMR)
- This list is specifically for students applying to pharmacy courses, except for those at Jadavpur University.
- The PMR considers only the scores from Physics and Chemistry to rank students.
- Like the GMR, students are ranked from highest to lowest based on their scores.
WBJEE 2024 Counselling and Seat Allotment Process
- Registration and Payment of Fees: Qualified candidates must register for counselling by filling out an online form on the WBJEEB official website. During registration, candidates need to pay a non-refundable counselling fee.
- Choice Filling and Locking: After registration, candidates must select their preferred colleges and courses in order of preference.
- Seat Allotment: The seat allotment is conducted through a computerized system based on the merit rank of the candidate and the preferences submitted. This process is usually conducted in multiple rounds, allowing candidates to accept the allotted seat or opt for further rounds in hopes of getting a higher preference
- Document Verification: Once a seat is allotted, candidates must report to the designated verification centres to verify their documents.

Tie-Breaking Rules in WBJEE 2024
If two or more candidates score the same marks in the WBJEE 2024, the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied:
- Negative Marks in All Subjects: Candidates with fewer aggregate negative marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be ranked higher.
- Positive Marks in Mathematics and Physics: If the tie persists, the candidate with higher aggregate positive marks in Mathematics and Physics will be preferred.
- Positive Marks in Mathematics and Chemistry: Should the tie still remain unresolved, the candidate with higher positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry will be ranked higher.
- Negative Marks in Mathematics and Physics: In continuing ties, fewer aggregate negative marks in Mathematics and Physics will result in a higher rank.
- Negative Marks in Mathematics and Chemistry: If a tie still exists, the candidate with fewer negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry will be considered next.
- Two-Mark Questions in Mathematics: For persistent ties, more positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2-mark questions will determine the higher rank.
- Two-Mark Questions in Physics: If the tie continues, more positive marks in Physics for the 2-mark questions will be considered.
- Two-Mark Questions in Chemistry: Further ties will be resolved by considering more positive marks in Chemistry for the 2-mark questions.
- Negative Marks in Two-Mark Questions: If the tie still cannot be broken, fewer negative marks in Mathematics, followed by Physics and Chemistry for the 2-mark questions, will be used.
- Date of Birth: As a last resort, the older candidate will be given preference if all other tie-breaking rules fail to resolve the tie.

To check your WBJEE 2024 results, follow these simple steps:
- Visit the Official Website: Go to the official website of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) at wbjeeb.nic.in.
- Log In: On the home page, look for the “Download WBJEE Results 2024” link. Click on it.
